Why Audio Advertising is an Improvement over PPC Advertising

Why Audio Advertising is an Improvement over PPC Advertising

audio ads, audio advertising, pay per play ads

The traditional kind of ad used on the World Wide Web was the pay per click ad. With this kind of ad the owner of the site that was being advertised on would only receive payment for those visitors to the web site which actually clicked on the ad. If you think about this in detail, it doesn’t really make sense. Think about all of the times that you have seen or heard an ad and thought that although you don’t have time to respond to the ad now, you will be interested in the product or service that they sell later.

Most advertisers pay for the impressions that their ad receives – i.e. the number of people who actually are exposed to the ad, but on the World Wide Web most ads only pay if someone decided that they will respond to the ad then and there. This was born out of the collapse of the dot com boom, as investors on the internet wanted to put together an advertising method which was very strict about maintaining instant results for expenses, but now that the internet has become a fixture in people’s homes, traditional advertising logic is coming back into play.

Technology has improved as well over the past few years – now a pay per play audio ad can load in an instant, whereas years ago when internet ads first came about it would have taken minutes for even a small clip to load. In today’s world, it is possible to load an ad of the same general quality level as one you would see on TV and have it come up on the page in an instant.

The reasons that pay per play advertising is an advantage for the ad presenter – the person running the web site where the ad is played, are mostly based around the fact that the ad pays every time that it is played. In other words, instead of only paying when people coming to site leave your site, you pay when they come and hear the ad, which happens as soon as the page loads. This means that you receive payment for 100% of your traffic!

The reasons that people are getting excited about advertising their products using pay per play advertising are based around the fact that with pay per play audio ads you make a much stronger impression on everyone who hears the ad. It is likely that many people hearing the ad will form a more positive impression of your company. Many more of them will be enticed to click right away, and others will remember a well designed ad later, the same way that a good radio or TV ad sticks in people’s heads.
